The second phase of the induction program for the
year 2015/2016 of the Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayewardhenepura held
on Saturday, 14th of November 2015, at Munasinghe hall of the Management
faculty, University of Sri Jayewardenepura was as an in-house session organized
by the two Club Service Directors, Rotaractor Tharindi Wickremesurendra and
Rotaractor Dananjaya Siriwardene. The session was held from 9.30.a.m. till
12.30 noon with the participation of over forty club members.
The Youth Service Advisor of the Rotary Club of
Battaramulla, Rotarian PHF. Sri Kandasamy, the District Rotaract Representative
Rotaractor Past President PHF. Sathyendra T. Singham, the District PD director
Rotaractor PP Ridwan Sheriffdeen, and the District IT director Rotaractor
Miyuru Darmage and Rotaractor PP Saroj Someratne, (representing the veteran
members of the Club) were invited as guest speakers for the event. Speeches
were delivered by the guest speakers sharing their experience of being involved
in the Rotary movement, introducing Rotaract and its benefits to the new
members, on the importance of team work, interaction and building networks
among Rotaractors.
As a whole, this exclusive event succeeded in
motivating the member base to continue with their Rotaract endeavours while
creating a platform for the Rotaractors and those who wished to join the club,
to voice their questions about Rotaract and receive clarifications about the
Rotary movement.
