The Annual Rotaract
Ifthar which was held on the 12th of July 2015 at Dehiwala was organized by the
Rotaract Club of University of Sri Jayawardenepura together with the Rotaract
Clubs of Colombo North(RCCN), Colombo Mid Town, Colombo Fort, Colombo West, Colombo Millennium City, Centennial United, Excellence College of Management(RCECM) and
American National College(ANC).
This event was held in
the light of strengthening the bond between Rotaractors of all the clubs beyond the divisions of ethnic groups through
celebrating the festival of Ramadan as brothers and sisters of one movement. Rotaractors were seen engaging in Muslim religious
and cultural practices, united as one.
In addition, this event also
enabled a group of orphan children to enjoy an Ifthar with the company of
Rotaractors. Rotaractors were able to make one of their daily Ifthar special in the spirit of Ramadan despite of the simplicity in the action of sharing a meal.
A stronger bond between the 9 organizing committees was shown
which in return promised a fantastic year ahead for Rotaract through the
unity of all the Rotaractors irrespective of their religious backgrounds.
More than 350 members of the following Rotaract clubs attended the
event.
